Sorry to read that you had to drop out. At least you were able to enjoy the first part of the trip. I agree on these hydro tracks. The Allt Garbh one is an abomination

Ah William! So sorry to read you had to retire. I've been there, and it is miserable. When I retired in 2013 I'd had an (unusual for me) asthma attack and as I was heading alone into wild country it never even entered my head that I could continue. Last year I was suffering unbearable pain 24hrs a day, the Challenge has to be enjoyable or there's no point, so I understand your decision and empathise. You'll be back, I hope!

I will enter next year. I have the second half of my crossing vetted and approved! Just have to figure out where to start and how to get to the Red Bothy by different route.

I'll send you details of the routes I've used in the past to get to Red Bothy. It won't be until Monday, I'm just nipping out for a quick walk.
