Thank you + Blog

Hi all

A bit overdue on the thank you post but I have been busy readjusting to normal life again! I'd like to thank Ali and Sue for being amazing organisers and always being on hand to answer any queries/problems etc! Also Ann and Alvar and all the other volunteers at Tarfside, the food and hospitality were amazing and I'm so glad I made it to Tarfside to enjoy it! To our trail angels, Toby and Vicky and their Red Campervan full of chocolate goodies and to Steve Smith and Hugo for much needed coffee!

And to my fellow challengers, (Katie, Dougie, Susan, Galaxy Magic Man(where ever you are), Kent, Gregory, Richard, Kev the Pump, Margaret and Alan Brown, Alan Ross, Peter and Gail, Andres (the speedy swede), Anthony, Morris and Shaun, Tim(Ray_kickbutts), Scott, Chris, Ray and Chelsea, Neil, Alan B, Grace, Steve, Ian and Grant, Peter, Jim, Tom, Shaun, Louise, Laura and Emma, Graeme and Marion, Phil the Scot, Croydon, Chris and many others whose names I can't remember or never got) without whom it would have been a lot harder to successfully cross the country!

I've started to blog my adventure (although its turning into a bit of an epic) at https://daunderlust.wordpress.com

Can't wait for next time!

Sally

Re: Thank you + Blog

Hi Sally,
Glad you managed to keep your tent up after that first night. Certainly a lovely camping spot.

Re: Thank you + Blog

Sally, it was great meeting you at that amazing campsite on Loch Affric. Guess you found a replacement tent pole. Looking forward to seeing your blog.

It was lovely to meet you Sally, so pleased you had a great time and that you'll be back! Looking forward to the blog 😊

Re: Thank you + Blog

Looking forward to the second part.

Re: Thank you + Blog

Hi Sally, looking forward to your next instalment, enjoyed your write-up so far. What did you do about your tent pole? Thank you for your support on that first day; I was on my first solo Challenge and a bit nervous! (Susan from Livingston)

Re: Thank you + Blog

Hey Susan!! I can’t believe our paths never crossed again, how was the rest of your Challenge? I managed to duck tape it the second night and then fixed it with super strong fastenings when I got home on the 3rd night! :) Sally

Re: Thank you + Blog

I had a great Challenge, thanks Sally. The usual blisters didn't appear until the last few days so I wasn't hobbling until the road walk from Northwaterbridge to Montrose on the last day, despite left IT band irritation which started on day four. This seemed to ease as the fortnight went on and I did take the whole thing really slowly so was probably a day or two behind the crowd and finished on the Friday afternoon. Enjoyed some really beautiful wild camping spots though and I may have to consider doing the Challenge again after all. Glad you got the tent pole repaired enough, looking forward to reading about how your sore leg got on.
