Buachaille Etive Mor

Anyone know recent conditions at Buachaille Etive Mor, and in particular whether Coire na Tulaich is passable without ice ax and crampons? Coire Altrium the same? Assuming both are likely still snowed-in.

Re: Buachaille Etive Mor

MWIS says " On the Scottish Highlands, there remains considerable snow above about 900m. With time, as snow melt continues, routes that remain blocked by very hard snow and ice will tend to be those on northerly aspects". That doesn't look good for Coire na Tulaich. I am carrying a Grivel pole with a retractable ice axe head and micro crampons although if Coire na Tulaich is packed with hard snow you will need more than that.

Re: Buachaille Etive Mor

Drove past yesterday afternoon on way to Fort William. There was a fair bit of snow still laying high on the headwall in Coire na Tulaich. I always look up there as I go past.
