expired banknotes

I have some change left from my last TGO (2015)
From what i have read Bank of England 1 pound coins and 5 pounds banknotes are expired.
Are 5 pounds banknotes from Bank of Scotland also expired ?
Is there any other banknotes /coins that are concerned ?

Its a small amount, i dont plan to exchange it at Bank of England, but i have i read charities could use them so i plan to get rid of them in one of the charity box at the airport tomorow.

Re: expired banknotes

Yes. They are all - including Scots notes - Dead Parrots

Re: expired banknotes

thanks !

Re: expired banknotes

Errm the one pound coins should be OK.....

Re: expired banknotes

Ignore me - the round single colour ones went out of circulation last October and were replaced by the 12-sided two-tone version.

Anno Domini...

Re: expired banknotes

The Scottish paper £5 and £10 notes have been replaced by plastic editions, the £20 are still paper. Remember the Scottish banks all have different notes. The banks in Scotland are exchanging old for new coins and notes for the time being.
