Glen Clova Hotel- camping close by?

Hi,

Our Challenge route has been been vetted an approved, and Im currently finalizing accommodation details.
One of our days finish in the vicinity of the Clova Hotel- I have noted the Bunkhouse is under renovation and may be open by April, but if thats not the case, is there any good pitches to camp near by? We plan to get a few refreshements at the hotel on our stay!

Re: Glen Clova Hotel- camping close by?

If all else fails I,m sure you could "unofficially" camp up by the visitor centre further up the glen, there is an unlocked toilet there, or there is I believe a new estate bothy up by Loch Brandy.

Re: Glen Clova Hotel- camping close by?

Rather than 'unofficially camping', perhaps "the local ranger service designated three short stay wild camping sites. They are located in Glendoll Forest adjacent to Jock’s Road (NO 252766), in a former quarry above Acharn (NO 280764) and by the River South Esk south of Moulzie (NO 285768)" would be useful, and wiser.

Re: Glen Clova Hotel- camping close by?

In 2012 we camped in the field opposite the hotel after asking at the bar. In the end I think there were at least 6 tents.
