Ford of Avon

Doing route planning I see that routes via the Ford of Avon require a FWA. Going that way my intention is to either go via the Corbett Creag Mhor and down into Faindouran or in the event of bad weather go via glen Avon. Either way I wont be crossing the ford.

Question re the FWA. Is a FWA required for the ford should it be in spate or is it required for the shoulder of Bynack more and down into the Fords of Avon ?

I'm very familiar with the area having done quite a few Cairngorm backpacks and would be quite happy going via the Fords Of Avon and into Glen Avon in poor weather.

Re: Ford of Avon

FWA is required in case the river is in spate. Via Glen Avon is your FWA via the corbett is your main route.
