Just found out the Allargue Arms is closed although I booked on the internet some months ago !!

Is this temporary, or permanent?

I remember a few years ago the same thing happened to me with the Royal Jubilee Arms hotel at Dykehead. Fortunately, that was the year my wife drove round dropping off my resupply parcels rather than posting them, so she found out and made alternative arrangements for me ... which is how we discovered Bob and Heather and the amazing Cortachy House!

At least if you camp down by the river you'll save yourself a jolly stiff climb at the end of a long day ...

Shame that it is closed.

The father and son who ran the place were one offs that gave a characterful place even more character. Great memories of them and the local farmers who were all very welcoming.
