Brian Hawkins

It is with great sadness that we have to pass on the news that 3 time Challenger Brian Hawkins died yesterday. We first met Brian in 2007 who was on his honeymoon with new wife Susan. Susan had already completed a Challenge and thought such an event would make a wonderful honeymoon....it did! Brian was diagnosed with motor neurone disease a few years ago and has bravely battled this with Susan at his side. Our deepest sympathy goes to Susan and all Brian's family. Please contact us for funeral details if you would like to attend.

Re: Brian Hawkins

This is very sad news. It was always a pleasure to bump into Brian and Sue on the Challenge. My thoughts are with Sue and family.

Re: Brian Hawkins

We're a family. Bless you, Brian.

Re: Brian Hawkins

Very sad to hear Brian left us. I met Brian and Susan on my first challenge back in 2007, and bumped occasionally into them on later events. The two of them colour my memories with joie de vivre.

Re: Brian Hawkins

I am deeply sad to hear this news. Motor Neurone Disease takes a great toll on the one who suffers from it and those around them who love and care for them. I was privileged to walk with Sue a few years back and to try and share some of my experience with it. My thoughts are with Sue and immediate family. Its been a battle for you and I hope that in a small way you might later take some comfort from Brian being at peace now.
