Re: Laggan

Hi,
I enjoyed the facilities at Laggan on this years challenge. (2016)
Good food and a great welcome.

When speaking to Christy I got the impression that they were being chucked out in June.
Christy seemed to be resigned to it and said that nothing happened without a reason. Quite philosophical if I remember correctly.

Are they still here?

Perhaps the experience of the Australian Brain family was a bit similar. Big Brother bureaucracy against the wee guy.
Funny how we welcome other immigrants but it may be politically incorrect to question some of the decisions that are made.

Just my thoughts.

Re: Laggan

Wow! what an injustes, I've put it on my Facebook page.
PS this is not about scotish Independence or brexsit lets not go there!!! its about furness,

Re: Laggan

It is indeed a disgrace IMO.
But then again when did those politicos in power and their jolly band o city dwelling bureaucrats, ever really use common sense or fairness.
It sums up the daft direction our nation is heading....

Re: Laggan

I don’t think that anyone has suggested in this thread that it has anything to do with where Terry does not want to go.

It just does not seem fair that a hard working family is being or has been deported.

From what I can gather it was a home office decision.

Re: Laggan

I too was delighted to be able to avail myself of the delightful food at Laggan on the TGO 2016. I met several of the family, and thought their plight to be shocking. They have made the 'Stores' into an oasis for walkers - and are quickly becoming part of the community. It would be terrible to move them out and let this place fall back into disrepair, not to mention the inhumanity of uprooting a family, several of whom were born in Scotland.
