Pait Lodge Camp

Next year will be my tenth and I'm planning a route that goes over some of the best bits. One of my start options is Strathcarron. The first time I went this way I walked past Bendroniag Lodge before heading over open ground from the East end of Loch Calavie, bog hopping SE to pick up the path that heads in Glen Affric.

A simple alternative would be to continue along the Bendronaig path as it turns North up towards Pait Lodge and Loch Monar (I fancy seeing it) before truing back South again.

Has anyone camped on the Southern leg after Pait? Any good?

Re: Pait Lodge Camp

Hi Andy,

I went that way in 2015 and found good camping going down the Uisge Misgeach about 165375 close to a small waterfall. There were no suitable spots that I saw between the Allt Riabhachan and where I stopped; the ground was very rough.
Hope this helps.

Pitched at NH 122 386 next to the ruined shieling a couple of years ago. Next day contoured N of Meallan Buidhe to hit the saddle W of Maellan Odhar Doire nan Gillean and so pick up the track leading into Gleann Innis an Lochiel. As Kirsten rightly says, the first couple of km are a tad rough . . .
