Scottish Mountain Gear

As some of you will know, I am very attached to my old Golite Quest rucksack, which has accompanied me on all my Challenges. When I got home this year, I found that the bottom of the pack was so full of holes, it resembled mesh more than any fabric normally found in rucksacks.

I thought you all might be interested to hear that I sent it to Scottish Mountain Gear who are based in Musselburgh, near Edinburgh. They replaced the lower panel and returned it, all for £34. Not only was their workmanship of the highest quality, they were polite, helpful and a delight to deal with. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Re: Scottish Mountain Gear

I have also had a good experience with SMG.

I stupidly burned a hole in my sleeping bag and they replaced the panel for £20. They also do down clothing/bag cleaning.

Re: Scottish Mountain Gear

Thanks, Emma, that's good to know.

Re: Scottish Mountain Gear

SMG replaced the leaky groundsheet of my Akto two years ago for £50 - it's like new now. I found them very easy to deal with and their service is good and prompt.
