National Limerick Day

Apparently today is National Limerick Day. We know a lot of you will be spending the day sitting on buses, trains or planes so how about composing a Challenge based limerick whilst you travel? There will of course be a fantastic prize for the best one - an extra biscuit with your cuppa when you reach Montrose!

Good luck to you all - have a safe and enjoyable crossing. We'll be waiting for you in Montrose but don't forget to ring in along the way!

Re: National Limerick Day

There's an event that is called TGO
And with boundless joy they would go
Through mist, wind and rain
They'd struggle and strain
Faking smiles at Montrose through the pain

Ta Dah!

Have fun everyone!

Liz

Re: National Limerick Day

The sky is blue
The view is bright
Not a midge or tick in site
The walk is easy
My feet are dry
My massive rucksack feels so light
A lovely camp wild and free
Pizza Hut delivers my tea....

Wakey wakey
Time to go
It's the 2016 T.G.O

Re: National Limerick Day

There was a young Challenger from Bude
Who went for a swim in a Loch
A man in a punt
Stuck his pole up her nose
And said it's private you can't swim here

I think some of the rhymes could do with a bit more work.

Re: National Limerick Day

There was a young lady from Cheshire
Who suffered unbearable pressure
"They've all gone without me"
"I don't start til Sat-dee"
"Not being a Lady of Leisure"

Re: National Limerick Day

There were two girlies from Moray,
Who never wanted to hurry.
The huge rucksacks they carry,
May cause them to tarry,
But they'll get to Montrose, no worry!

Re: National Limerick Day

Whisky from Skye, with a golden glow,
is the dram for me, you have to know.
But carry the weight
will make me pitch late.
I think I'll stick to pure H2O.
