Persistent easterly winds throughout next week will bring sustained melt across the still extensively snow covered Scottish Highlands - although at the end of the week, temperatures may well drop markedly. Substantially dry, but mainly Wales and less frequently N England further bursts of rain or thunderstorms. Fog will often shroud eastern mountain areas.
