Re: Knoydart Ferry

I phoned the visitor centre in Mallaig just a couple of days ago and the nice chap on the phone there referred only to Western Isles Cruises whose main sailing of the day is at 10.15 am on weekdays. The other operator Seabridge seem to be shrouded in mystery, the website doesn't work and there are no timetables displayed.

Western Isles Cruises are very much operational and have pleasant and efficient staff on the phone taking bookings. They tell me that they put their biggest boat on for the 10.15 crossing so bookings *unlikely* to be necessary.

Re: Knoydart Ferry

Nothing mysterious about it, just more flexible competition to the long-established traditional ferry. Used it last September and it was excellent.

Re: Knoydart Ferry

Just talked to the very friendly woman in the booking office.

They are well prepared for the Challenge influx.

The ferry capacity is 80.

I've booked, but with that capacity, it shouldn't be a problem getting on - I hope.....
