FWA Cluanie Inn to Ceannacroc Bridge/Lodge on A887 in Glen Moriston.

We are thinking of an FWA between Cluanie Inn and Ceannacroc Bridge. Walking on the A87 is a dismal project. Is anyone aware of the condition of the various sections of the Old Military Road along this route? Put bluntly, can you get off the main road sufficient to make it worthwhile? Thanks folks!

Here's one possibility: Track N to Alltbeithe YH, E to Cougie, track SW to rivet Doe and onto Ceannacroc bridge. If you are targeting Fort Augustus you cou from Cougie simply walk down lane NE to Hilton lodge and follow track S to Torgyle bridge and then old military road ESE to FA. These seem the obvious and least 'hazardous' options, but I'm sure others will come up with alternatives.

The sections of Old Military Road above the A87 are excellent walking, kept in use by people doing traverses on the hills to the north. An alternative is to take the old Tomdoun road from the Cluanie Inn and traverse above Loch Loyne to meet the track that meets the A87 near the junction with the A887. It is possible to cross both the Cluanie Dam and the outflow from the Loyne Dam.

I followed the OMR on 2014 crossing, the track had been really chewed up by the Scottish Trials Bike crew + it was really wet = horrible day
