Crossing the Dee at Braemar

Does anyone know what the linear feature is that crosses the R Dee N of Braemar at NO 150925 (SE of Inverchandlick Cottage)? Its visible on Google Earth and is shown on the OS 1:25k, but not as a bridge or footbridge (a pipe, a weir?). More importantly, can I cross it?

Re: Crossing the Dee at Braemar

Hmmm, just thought, whatever WAS there before Storm Frank is probably NOT there now. Any local intel will be most welcome.

Sadly, there is no crafty or easy way across. There was talk of a new bridge but I think it has been postponed.

I think that postponed is in perpetuity.

Re: Crossing the Dee at Braemar

A certain Mr T Leyland of this parish has always claimed that the Dee can be waded somewhere between Braemar and Invercauld Bridge. He was always a bit vague as to where but did point the spot out once and will no doubt supply grid refs if necessary.

He might even give piggybacks this year as I'm sure he's going that way...
