Re: SPRING GATHERING

Thanks Alistair, look forward to seeing you both in March.

Re: SPRING GATHERING

Could be a tad chilly this weekend then!

Re: SPRING GATHERING

Sounds like we may not leave the bar!

Re: SPRING GATHERING

On a plus note, it will be solid underfoot.
Kinder last week was easy going, hard ground and easy pitches up high top.
Be quite different if it thaws.

Re: SPRING GATHERING

Well, that went well...

After a somewhat frustrating 3.5 hours spent inside Outside, in Hathersage, I

decided to turn back for home. It had snowed heavily all the way over the moors

before I arrived in Hathersage (slippery as ....and saw a couple of minor

crashes) and continued for the time I was in the village.

There were folk who made it to the Snake Pass Inn, but, the road was

officially "closed."

So, I hope all who did get to the Snake had a good time. It would have been

great walking....

I was not very happy driving home ..... could I have got there? - kept going

through my mind.

It was only on Sunday morning that I read that - if folk drove past the "Road

Closed" sign they invalidated their insurance.

I then stopped beating myself up.

There's always next year............

Re: SPRING GATHERING

It didn't say road closed when I went up it, or if it did, it was covered in snow and not visible.
But they did have bollards out when I went back on Sun, which is weird because I think the road was open then.
