Re: Ballater

Here's a screen-grab from yesterday evening's One Show with an aerial view of the Ballater campsite taken from the south-west looking toward the bridge over the River Dee. I've drawn a red circle to show the area where Challengers have camped in the past. I can count fifty destroyed caravans, and very much doubt that these were insurable.

Re: Ballater

After all that's happened there when finalising my route I decided to take in Ballater, a small show of support I suppose.

Re: Ballater

Hi Ian, Ballater is always one of my favourite stops, so even if the camp site is not up and running again I'll find somewhere to fly camp in that area. I'd finalised my route before the floods so don't want to alter it just for that. The Alexandra Hotel does great bar meals (not to mention the beer) too!
