OS 1:250k "Road" maps now available by Nicholson Maps

I know that you'll all have had your Vetter's comments back by now ... but my route is not quite finished but I've just bought a new map which will be very helpful.

Ordnance Survey used to publish a series of Road or Travel Maps of which there were three covering Scotland. I already have the Northern and Western Scotland maps but could not find the Southern Scotland and Northumberland map as the OS stopped publishing them.

I have recently learnt that Nicholson are publishing these 1:250,000 maps.

They are a perfect scale for that initial planning stage as they help you see how places might join up into a route.

So.... no more excuses for me. I can now plan further East than Taynult!

Very glad I finally found time for some catching-up with Message Board.

Thank you SO much for that, Judith. Like you, I used those maps for an "overview" and missed them when the OS gave up. Now I can answer the family questions about what I'd really like for a February birthday....all three.
