Pictures already!

I can't do clicky thingies, but if anyone wants to bore themselves for ten mins with their morning coffee, here is my first selection gallery from this year's solo Lochailort to Montrose, sadly without poor Mike who still isn't allowed to start walking yet after breaking his leg skiing in early March.
It's a google gallery via Picasa.

Re: Pictures already!

Hi Marion

Sorry not to see you this year. I am famously technologically challenged but I can't access your pics. Have you had feedback from anyone else yet? I would like to see them.

Liz

Re: Pictures already!

Ah yes, The Clicky Thing!!

Click here to look at Marian's pix

Re: Pictures already!

I cant seem to get the pictures even with humphreys link either

Re: Pictures already!

Cheers Humphrey, one day I too will master the clicky thingie. Until then, it'll have to be copy-n-paste...but there's some problem if folk can't access them; I did check the link worked okay for me, but maybe it's to do with accessing Google+. I'll put them in a proper blog and repost in some different way.

Re: Pictures already!

Perhaps they have to be 'public'?

Re: Pictures already!

Hmm, good point Louise!! Stupid me..... Sorted.

Re: Pictures already!

A wonderful set of pictures Marian - some stunning shots in there.

Re: Pictures already!

Lovely pictures, Marian, thanks for making them available. Puts me in the mood for a walk! Liz

Re: Pictures already!

Marion, some nice pics. there considering everything.
To compare how did your first solo challenge go?.
Sometimes going solo makes one look to avoid other
walkers.
I did my first ten crossings solo. The closer I got
ten the more determined I became to stay solo.I think
I was the first to reach ten solo.
Having said all that is Mike mending OK now. Cheers.

Re: Pictures already!

Waldo, I do actually prefer to walk alone, and usually walk solo at home; this can include mountaineering too: scrambles, easy gullies in winter etc. as we live at the foot of Helvellyn. Trouble is, as I get older my joints grumble about carrying a heavy pack, so in short, I loved crossing Scotland this year, but missed having Mike to help carry the weight! I was particularly careful with river crossings on my own, but luckily water was low. Company was grand when it happened, and I was very happy when I bumped into sundry Challengers; this was more towards the end really, but I didn't happen to meet many folk for the first week. I would certainly go solo again, focuses me in on living in the moment and absorbing the sounds of nature etc. - you know - rain pounding on the tent, a raging torrent just ahead, ruddy rare birds waking you up at 4am, that sort of thing...

Re: Pictures already!

Wonderful photographs Marian! Thoroughly enjoyed following your travels 😀

Re: Pictures already!

Marion. Thanks for your reply, put much better than I could. I especially
Like the" focuses on living the moment",and "only the sounds of nature to
intrude". I think the focus is more intent in these tricky situtations, knowing
you are on your own. That always gives me a buzz, and it seems it returns
as a memory much longer than a similar shared event does. Byee.
