Re: Thanks guys.

Just like to add my thanks to all the people involved in organising and running this terrific event for another successful year. Not forgetting the kindness and support of fellow challengers and others we met along the way - especially Gayle for unexpected tea & cakes (yum!) and of course the blessed Margaret of the Spork, without whom I would surely have starved to death!

Re: Thanks guys.

My thanks too to everyone keeping a (safety) eye on me in Challenge Control on my way across and my sadness that the Thursday evening bash is so short that it is impossible to have any really lengthy conversations with all of the many Challenge chums that you wish to speak to. Spose there's always next year....

.... and JJ, we vettas are honourable chaps and chapesses and always pay our dues, but had I read my vetting notes to you again prior to the bash I could have probably saved myself £3.55p as they do state specifically and catogorically that my offer of a pint was, "subject to withdrawal without notice and without prejudice PRIOR to.................." (your induction into the hallowed Hall of Legends).

As you failed to take up this offer PRIOR to your induction it could be be deemed that the offer had expired, was thus invalid and not available AFTER your induction. However the late purchase of the pint I hope confirms really what a wonderfully generous bunch poor, unappreciated, unloved, mis-understood, poor, occasionally- maligned, occasionally un-washed vettas are!!!!!!

Re: Thanks guys.

I would also like to add my thanks and gratitude to the Organisers, those in Challenge Control and everyone involved in this tremendous event. In respect of the Vettas, I would like to thank Alan Hardy for his advice and apologise once again to the Vetta above leaving him to a lonely supper in Tomintoul. Thanks to Gail, you cheered up a grim day with your wonderful tea and cakes.

I would like to thank everyone I met and walked with for their kindness and support. Special thanks are due to those who helped coax me to Aberdeen after my little mishap coming into Ballater. In particular, I am indebted to David Brown, Stan Appleton, Lindy Griffiths and John and Norma Keohane. Thanks, guys.

Re: Thanks guys.

WOT THEY SAID!!

Re: Thanks guys.

Ooops, sorry - just realised I should have been thanking Gayle.
Thank you!

Re: Thanks guys.

A big thanks from me as well

Re: Thanks guys.

Thank you to everyone who has made this year such a splendid event.

To those of you on the organisational/safety side of things I send a great big hug of thanks. Without you, it just would not happen.

To everyone I met on the hill - we are nuts for doing what we do, but whenever anyone asks me why I do it, I just say "because I can". Nothing can express the impact that two weeks on the hills in the company of some of the most generous, crazy, funny people has on being able to survive the other 50 weeks of the year.

And then of course there is Gayle and her splendid tea-loaf. Many more thanks for that lovely surprise. Have you got the recipe?

Starting to think about a route for next year...

Re: Thanks guys.

I'd just like to add my thanks to all those involved in the organisation of the Challenge and to everyone I met along the way for making it such an enjoyable time. As I've said before it's the best 2 weeks of the year.

Re: Thanks guys.

May I also add my thanks on behalf of " The Three Musketeers "to all those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make our crossing a success.

Re: Thanks guys.

Me too! Ali, Sue and all the support team worked tirelessly during the event (Gayle, foregoing the Fun and Games on Thursday night to man the phones was way past the point of dedication!) And let's not forget the monster work involved in keeping The Venerable Vetters supplied with hooch, the pure grunting getting out the manifold print material, and the diplomacy in getting such great sponsors on board.

And Sue and Ali's speeches Thursday were no too shabby! Thanks also to JD, Roger and Daniel for their urbane and witty contributions.

Pats on the back all round!

Re: Thanks guys.

Agus maith thu fein, A'Chara. We are even now scouring the globe for lost tribes to recruit new Challengers to test your mighty linguistic dexterity.

Re: Thanks guys.

Treibheanna caillte ? Nó Challengers dearmad ? Ag feck tú gach . . .

Yip! Yip!

Re: Thanks guys.

Well, it's all been said already, so I'll just say a heartfelt THANK YOU to everybody. You all know who you are ...

Re: Thanks guys.

Just to say thank-you for all the thank-yous! We have had a huge amount of support from the "Challenge family" in our first year and it is very much appreciated. Now we gather something starts on May 13th 2016 - we suppose we better start thinking what we should do about it . . . .
