Gelder Shield Bothy on Balmoral

Hi All,

I am now aware that Gelder Shield Bothy on Balmoral is about to get a refurbishment both inside and outside over the weekend of 8,9,10th May.

It is also proposed to rename the Bothy -- Ernie's Bothy -- after late president of Ballater Charitable Chiels -- Ernie Rattray.

Hope the smell of fresh paint does not stop you sleeping!!!!

Yes the bothy will closed to the public on the weekend 8th /9th 10th May @ also
15th to 17th May .The area around the bothy work site will also be closed to the public. The bothy shall have a plaque placed on the inside of the bothy for Ernie . Locally, the bothy may well be called Ernie,s bothy, but as far as i am aware it will remain called Gelder sheil.
