Why there are so many wind turbines

Listen to Sunday 15th March "Farming Today" radio programme on BBC i-Player. Want to make money? Get a £3000,000 bank loan, put up a wind factory, the proceeds will enable you to repay the loan within five years, and from then on the money's all yours. Oh, just one snag - you need to be a landowner.

Re: Why there are so many wind turbines

I once sat through a consultation with a leading QC during the course of which our expert witness on the renewable expert market explained to the QC why it was often in the wind generators' interest to PAY THE NATIONAL GRID to supply it with their electricity.

Yes, that's right ... the wind blew at the wrong times, generating electricity at a time when nobody wanted to be supplied with it, so nobody was willing to pay to have it ... but it was still so much in hte wind generators' interests to supply i tthat they were prepared to pay for the privilege.

I jest not.

The look on the QC's face was priceless!
