Basil Berry

It is with deep sorrow that I report the death of Basil Berry, who died in Musgrove Park Hospital Taunton last week.
Basil who completed the Challenge in 1983,85,87,89, and 92, along with Doug **** and myself was one of the original Cider Crunchers.
He also helped Pauline and myself run Alltbeithe Youth Hostel in 1993, this was the first time that the S.Y.H.A allowed the Challenge to man the Hostel giving access to the facilities for Challengers.
The funeral will take place at Taunton Deane Crematorium on the 11th March at 11.30am.
Our sympathy and prayers go to Janet, Karen, Richard and family, R.I.P Basil

Re: Basil Berry

Really sorry to here this news. We remember meeting Basil along with the other cider crunchers on the sleeper train to Glasgow in '87, a bit of a culture shock to Avril on her first Challenge. Always a laugh and always seemed to look on the bright side of life. Our condolences go to his family and friends.
