My friends. Following on from Alan Sloman's recent post I'd urge you all to register your objections to the egregious proposal for a Wind Factory in Assynt.

Yes, I know that that Assynt is outwith the Challenge area. And it may not be familiar to some. But, to put this in context, this mighty region of the extreme north-west of our country could swallow the entire Leeds>Manchester>Liverpool conurbation without a trace.

Assynt has the oldest of all our global geology. It has a a mighty landscape of outrageous mountains that rise clear from the sea and presents as home to legendary beasts.

I've been visiting these parts for some forty years. And my friends in the area - who work within the Education and Local Government sectors - are appalled by this proposal. We all need your support.

Please step up and make your feelings known. Every comment counts.

I did. I checked my emailaccount by sending myself a message from another account and that one didn't show either. I hope there isn't a link for confirmation in the email.

I got an e-mail confirmation too but not all that quickly.

It's just monstrous what's being done to that unique landscape.

Right, chaps and chapesses, I've been looking at the Caplich web page regularly to see how things are developing. Until yesterday nearly all of the comments were objections. Now there's a rash of comments supporting it. Some look suspiciously cut and paste.

I urge you to take five minutes and object to this planned monstrosity!
