Pondering a new sleeping mat....

Now my trusty Vango has sprung a leak I'm considering a replacement.

Has anyone tried a Klymit Inertia?

Re: Pondering a new sleeping mat....

I won one of these a couple of years ago. It insulates you from the gound very well, your sleeping bag lofts down into the holes in it, but I found it so uncomfortable I could never get a good nights sleep.

Re: Pondering a new sleeping mat....

FWW I've found the Thermorest x lite to be comfortable, light and reliable.

I'd previously used solid foam mats.

Re: Pondering a new sleeping mat....

I'm attracted by the light weight and small pack size. The downside is if it bursts like my neo-air did.

Re: Pondering a new sleeping mat....

I had one of the original Neo-air mats and it was a let down in more ways than one!

That's why I went to solid foam. No letting me down - but not so comfortable.

A few years later I read good reviews on the x lite and decided to go for it.

I've used it a good many times now, including on last year's Challenge. It

stay's inflated - unlike the Neo-air - and is much more comfortable than solid

foam. So far, it hasn't let me down.

Still love my Synmat

Re: Pondering a new sleeping mat....

Synmat for me same as Louise

Re: Pondering a new sleeping mat....

As for me, I seem to be bucking the trend and going heavier and heavier....Exped for me..the UL version. I assume UL means UnLikely you'll want to carry it for long. But it is very very comfortable.

Re: Pondering a new sleeping mat....

I suggest you give it a little while longer, there's a new series of mats coming from Sea to Summit which we will be showing at our show on the 25th April and I'll be using myself all being well.

Apart from being more comfortable, they have a double air systems, which means you only ever get half a puncture!
