Re: food

Hi Frederic

Glen Clova, of course, has the splendid Clova Hotel which I can thoroughly recommend. Has a bunkhouse as well as some rather smart rooms. Good food to eat there either in the bar or the restaurant. If you wanted a packed lunch, I'm pretty sure they would do one - best to ask them - but I found the cooked breakfast saw me through most of the day!

I have driven past, but not visited, the Inn on the Tay at Grandtully - looks a bit posh on the website, but does fish & chips or pies and veg etc for £11 to £12.

Kirkmichael (I assume you mean the one near Pitlochry) has a small shop/ cafe/petrol station. Telephone to check the details nearer the Challenge as these little shops sometimes close or change opening hours.

I'm pretty sure that you can buy sandwiches and cakes to take away at the Retreat. We just scoffed them on the premises! Give them a call on +44 (0)1356 648070

Hope this helps.

Re: food

Thanks for the info, this means less weight to carry.
The Kirkmichael i was thinking about is 14km east of Pitlochry : NO 079 600
And the shop i saw on internet is :

Re: food

Chaque mot souligné dans ma réponse est en fait un lien, donc cliquer sur eux pour avoir un regard sur leurs sites Web - à l'exception de l'épicerie, qui est celui que vous venez de mentionner!

I hope my schoolboy french isn't too embarrassing

Re: food

I stayed at The Grand Tully a few Winters ago. Looks to be under new ownership since, but when I was there I remember the bar did some very nice pizzas. Accommodation now looks like you can't book individually at weekends :-/

Re: food

The Grandtully Bar is attached to the hostel, popular with kayakers and other water sports enthusiasts shooting the local rapids. When I visited last year they had food and some fine real ale. Il y a aussi un chocolatier dans le village. Magnifique!

Re: food

Less of the Spanish, please.

Re: food

Ill try the pizzas !
As for the chocolate it would be very useful info if Elise was there, but she will skip the TGO until our son is a bit older.
