Standby List Numbers

How many are on the standby list this year?

Second Third attempt...

Re: Standby List Numbers

Hi Alan,

At least 5 'cos that's me! I'm pretty hopeful, planning a route avoiding stepping stones.

Re: Standby List Numbers

That's good to hear, Liz

It's great when you can say "Oooh! I'm on the standby list!" with a smile.

Does anyone else have their standby list number?

(First Second attempt at these letters!)

Re: Standby List Numbers

Well, that is a place then Liz.
Not sure why the number on the standby list cannot go out with the event details. It must be known.

Re: Standby List Numbers

I am number 666

Re: Standby List Numbers

So Hell's Hole (NK076323) will be your destination on the east coast

Re: Standby List Numbers

Who is Number One?

Re: Standby List Numbers

Aye Alan, a quick wipe of the rusty blade on the sleeve of my old fleece and we're off-as will be the leg. I'm quite an expert on knees having let the NHS have a go at mine. Apart from the initial confusion-is the left knee the right knee sort of thing-it works nae bad, and guarantees special attention at airport security. The Swiss Army knife has that thingy for getting stones out of horses hooves; it's very handy for those hard to reach internal organs. We might as well collect any that your bruv ain't using while we're at it. Give me a list as I might have to look some of them up in a book of some kind.

Re: Standby List Numbers

Liz, don't worry too much about stepping stones. Simply make sure you are last in the queue and cross by stepping on the packs of failed Challengers!

Re: Standby List Numbers

Excellent advice and as I'm always last in the queue, easy to apply!

Liz

Re: Standby List Numbers

I am Number Six.

Hi Sammy. I wish my left knee was still nineteen. I reckon it's getting for for ninety.

Re: Standby List Numbers

Hi Alan, I hope your brother does not read that comment!

Hi Alan, I hope your brother does not read that comment!

Funny you should mention my brother, Mr Grumpy. Yesterday Brother Dave agreed to walk a couple of days of the Challenge with Lord Elpus and me, from Ballater to Tarfside.

I wonder if JD still has his Swiss Army penknife? We could harvest Dave's left knee. A couple of tables in the Masons' will do as an operating theatre. There's plenty of anaesthetic available behind the bar. He won't miss one knee, surely?

Re: Standby List Numbers

Oh my word, there'll be two of you!

Those couple of days will be...interesting.

Still, if I'm walking at my usual cruising speed, shouldn't disturb me too much ;-)

First attempt...
