Wild camping e-Petition

There’s an e-Petition on the go at the moment – the idea is that it MAY just persuade our government to allow wild camping in the UK.

Re: Wild camping e-Petition

Filled in and shared with my Facebook friends. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Re: Wild camping e-Petition

Done and signed. The petition is actually for England and Wales as we already have it in Scotland (as Challengers well know!) Well done for posting this, JJ.

You might want to repost in a few weeks when the board will be buzzing again and there'll be more takers. I am already rushing to get the post every day even though I'm not really expecting it for another week or two. Maps have started to appear ....

Re: Wild camping e-Petition

Hi John,

Saw this on your blog and used the information to raise awareness on Twitter too.
Don't think Govt will be interested - but it's worth a try.

Re: Wild camping e-Petition

Signed the petition and shared it on facebook. As someone who lives in the Scottish Borders it would be good not have worry when I venture across the line.

Re: Wild camping e-Petition

It's deja-vu all over again JJ! Do you recall the Petiton in 2008?

This is not the best worded petition I've ever seen - suggesting that currently wild campers outwith Scotland are louts, teenagers, drunks and litterers seems to me to encourage the counter argument that legalisation will lead to even more louts, teenagers, drunks and litter in the countryside."

I've signed, but with my signature the total today stood at a not very impressive 1236.

Re: Wild camping e-Petition

Indeed Sir - Here were my thoughts back in January 2008 (along with a whole host of others')

In the comments Gayle kindly stepped in to assure me that I was not a criminal, as wild camping is a civil offence.

It's good to give this another airing, but realistically it stands little chance of success.
