Re: Cheese and wine soiree- Challenge Police report.

Many thanks Peter.

Perhaps those who attended and had fun could add a word?

Soon would be very much appreciated.

Re: Cheese and wine soiree- Challenge Police report.

I am perplexed and disappointed by this report, as scrupulous efforts were made to clear up and bag all the plates, table cloths, bunting, bottles and packaging. Val & Dave Machin carried all the rubbish away at the end of the evening.

I can say with absolute certainty that no “stone circles” were constructed by our party, and I didn’t notice any evidence of wilful littering the next morning as I wombled around the site.

Clearly a little biodegradable stuff was overlooked, which is a shame as everyone there has the utmost respect for the hills and the environment which we enjoy. Fortunately I am in the habit of photographing our camp spots on the challenge, and I have sent John a full size version of this photo of the site taken just before we departed in the morning.

Re: Cheese and wine soiree- Challenge Police report.

Many thanks indeed Phil,

Photograph received. We're just bringing the Challenge satellite round to bear on the site now but while it gets properly aligned I'm happy that things appear to have taken place in accordance with the spirit of the event.

Very much appreciated.

Re: Cheese and wine soiree- Challenge Police report.

Well, I do not remember any stone circles, and if there were stones there, they were not taken from the river by us.
I was still eating the remnants of my cheese remnants 3 days later, and cannot remember seeing any cheese or other litter, but then again, we left by one route and saw nothing, and as Phil's photo shows, there appeared to be no visible litter. In fact I remember bundling up anything that I found, which was then carried out.
So I am quite surprised by this.
