Challenge Kindness

I just wanted to say a couple of 'public' thankyous to those who helped us out along the way this challenge.

Firstly to Jo, a lovely lady who works in the museum shop at the bottom of Loch Arkrig. We popped into buy some Ice Cream & were talking about our route with her. Later she drove by as it was pouring with rain at Gairlochy. She knew we were going to struggle to get to Roybridge campsite where we were due to camp & pick up our supply parcel by the end of the day, so she kindly dropped us there. It was one of those moments where our moral was particularly low & that gesture of kindness turned our evening around, allowing us to get washed, do washing and get to the pub in time for a meal and set us up better for the next day. After four days of soggy walking in Knoydart we really needed that!

Secondly, the owners of Roybridge Campsite, Alex & Flora, who gave us such a warm welcome both in the email contact we had prior to the challenge & when we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble for them & Alex was kind enough to drop us back out to Gairlochy the next day to continue our walk where we left off.

Thank you also to all those other gestures of kindness along the way from our fellow challengers, familiar & new, we encountered along the way, as well as to Dalwhinnie Bunkhouse, Mar Lodge, Braemar Campsite, Bill & Mike at Callater, Tarfside volunteers, to all at control & John, & of course the Vetters....

...We had another great crossing. See you all again I hope.
