Important message: SWITCH ON tracking devices

Any Challengers carrying SPOT Trackers or other tracking-type devices: please SWITCH THEM ON!!! Others, please spread the word.

A handful of folk merrily blazed a trail on Friday, then seemed to stay put yesterday, without issuing a single location signal or sending out "I'm okay" emails.

These devices are NOT part of our monitoring system and we CANNOT act until your safety call-in is overdue, but friends and family at home may worry unduly if you appear to have not moved for 24 hours or more.

The technology is marvellous but only if you use it.
