Re: Camp site showers

Andy, I found that our ignorant neighbour who was chatting on his mobile to his wife at crack of sparrows last year got us up in time to shower in lovely hot water before it ran out. I suppose I should have been grateful...

Re: Camp site showers

Just a footnote for those who wish to don fresh, fragrant fluffy clothes after their shower - NWB has a laundry room with a couple of sturdy top loading washing machines, a sink for hand washing and a giant commercial tumble dryer.

If I recall correctly, detergent & tokens need to be purchased at the shop for the washing m/c, and the tumble dryer takes 20p pieces (quite a few for a big load, but shared between 2 or 3, not so bad).

There is sometimes a packet of detergent left in the laundry, so check that before buying, and in the past I have been given some by a sympathetic caravan owner.

Re: Camp site showers

"Given some [detergent] by a sympathetic caravan owner"? How near was your tent to their caravan, Phil? Are you sure it was "sympathy" and not desperation on their part?

Re: Camp site showers

They were parked well upwind, so I think it must have been my natural boyish charm & good looks.
