Re: Gockoo Alert

That's a very colourfull koekoek you're showing John. I've been working for many years for a company on Koekoek Lane

Re: Gockoo Alert

I think they must migrate south then. I heard one on the walk out from Glencoul bothy in the woods opposite Glendubh bothy in the middle of March. I'll need to check the exact date, but I think it was about 11th. It has been an unseasonably early spring here in the far north, so, although it was very early, I wasn't enormously surprised.

Re: Gockoo Alert

Ah, but when you heard it, what was it saying? For, as we all know ... that is, all of us who are acquainted with "The Nodder" by P. G. Wodehouse ... the cuckoo does NOT go "cuckoo" ... it goes "wuckoo"

Re: Gockoo Alert

Some are on holiday.

I heard ... and SAW one ... loads on Cannock Chase
