Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

Well, Phil and I will be arriving at 20.00 (ish) depending upon trains.

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

I'll be there, probably around seven(ish).

Don't forget the Nicorettes for Mr Walker

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

I was planning on being there about 7.45 - hopefully RMT and TFL won't derail (pun intended) that planning

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

Alan

My train arrives at Paddington about 18:30 so I should be at the Bree about 19:00, however if the tube strike is on then I'll probably be there by 19:30

Ray

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

I imagine I shall be there some time between 6 and 7.

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

I am sorry that I will NOT be there this year. Good luck to all and have a safe challenge. See you in 2015 ........ William

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

I'll be there in spirit

Or, should that be: beer?

But, I'm one of the few Ardrishaig starters (7) and I'm off to Glasgow on the Thursday morning. Then a bus to Ardrishaig.

Have one or two for me at the Bree.

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

I thought all the planning was over!

I'll find my way there between 7 and 8 I hope.

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

The"Bree"

This view of Euston street at the junction with Couoburg St. It has the Station in the background and a favourite haunt of real ale drinkers the Bree Louise Free House in the foreground.

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

Why did you have to post that, Stormin?

I was planning on just wandering round at random, taking a dram in every pub I came across until I stumbled across the right one (so a slightly more scientific approach to navigation than normal ... )

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

Happy to see the sun is shining here..

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

Alan,

Between 7 and 8 till first sleeper departure.

Victor

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

Vic & Nic,
Don't fall in with this rabble, they only"invite"unsuspecting TGOers to grill them about kit and how much whiskey you are carrying.Tell them NOTHING!!!

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

Norman

We learned of this ploy from older hands on the Challenge.
It's most important to know how much whisky the newbies have on board and where exactly it's stored in their packs. You need to pinpoint the Scotch so that minimum effort is wasted in its location.

By the way, Norm... What do we do with the bodies?

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

Al,
This pair are no noobies, they did ther first about '81 (correct me if i'm wrong
Vic).In fact it was with Vic i did my first challenge with in '85 It was
HIMwho got me addicted.
You can prop 'em up in a corner in this old gaff,no one will ever notice.

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

Ah - VERY old hands, eh?

Thanks for the tip, Norm; I'll prop them up against Denis Pidgeon and wrap them all up in a nice warm Union Flag.

That sorts out the funeral arrangements as well, as the Scottish Nationalists will be setting fire to it before too long.

Can you remember what we did with Terry Leyland's body? I've searched high & low for it, to no avail. He had carried a rather nice bottle though.

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

I think he's around this old bothy somewhere, you'd better ask Keith.

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

Bad news the bothy is now more and worse news Terry is still with us
But then it would not be the same with out him
one has to take the rough with the smooth

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

Spot on Norm....1981

Seems a long time ago now.........

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

Stormin yes 81 it was.You and I shared a horse shelter overnight somewhere.
That was in the Ultimate days with that lovely brass badge with the
bighorned sheep on.

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

BUMP!

Last call for Challengers meeting up at the Bree Louise on Wednesday evening as I will be calling them to reserve a table tomorrow lunchtime (Saturday)

It gets very busy and so a handle on the numbers will mean I can reserve an appropriately sized table.

Thank you.

Not long now... Has Louise packed yet?

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

Thanks Alan - I'll arrive around 8pm and would be glad to join the merry lot.

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

No, Louise has not packed yet.
I will not pack before Wednesday night next week...

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

Good Grief Woman, we will be on the train by then.

NOT even a test pack???

BET YOU DO. BET YOU DO!!!!

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London

Nope.

Re: Bree Louise, Euston, London
