Re: Campsites or B&B near Kincardine O'Neil

As you come into kinkers (its a car keys in the fruit bowl kinda place ) from the west/aboyne, there is a big log cabin shop. Between that and the village there is a big playing field bounded by a wood on the south side, rekon you could doss down there without a problem, over by the trees would be well out of the way and quiet. Im sure the log cabin place was once a caravan or chalet park.

If you arrive in the village on the deeside line, then you would need to turn right when you hit the main rd, be about 50/100m along past the garage.

Cant think of any proper sites in that area, 5 or 6 miles further on (to far?) would be waulkmill fishery and camp site.

Re: Campsites or B&B near Kincardine O'Neil

In 2009, with feet blistered to, um, perdition, I nevertheless did Ballater to Banchory in a day.

The Deeside Way is easy walking, and you might like to consider making it a big day to get it all over and done with, and give you plenty of extra time for wandering around Fetteresso wondering where the photon the correct path is.

Plenty of accommodation in Banchory (or a wild pitch by the river, just upstream of hte bridge on the town side) and a really nice Indian restaurant.
