Re: Camping on the Corrieyairack Pass

The main reason is you can take a car, motor bike, cycle, with kit
for a month, right up to the door. I was there one weekend when
a wedding party of about forty, had it for the whole weekend.
Large tents the lot. As much food and drink you could eat.
The downside was vomit and crap everywhere." Some" did make
an attempt to clear it up and take away. Cheers.

Re: Camping on the Corrieyairack Pass

I had a similar experience a few years ago. I arrived there from Glen Roy about 6pm, to find a young man unloading a crate of beer and a whole box of wine bottles from the boot of his car. He was perfectly civil, but declared his intention of drowning his sorrows all night following (I think) some relationship problem. My sympathies didn't quite extend to being a shoulder to cry on, let alone a clearer-up: the aim was solitude.

A lovely sunny June evening, so I kept walking, and eventually camped a few miles out of Fort Augustus after 10.30 at night!
