We're now into the post-New Year rush and the annual pre-deadline logjam. while route comments were being turned around within three or four days, it's now likely to take a couple of weeks or more.

For clarification, the deadlines are as advised in the Planning Notes distributed after the late October draw:

Those who've previously completed five or more crossings: Saturday, January 18
All others: Saturday, February 15
Standby List closes: March 14

Please LET ME KNOW NOW if you're likely to miss your deadline, for whatever reason.

So far there have been very few withdrawals; only three people have been offered places on the event from the SBList. No two years are the same…

Re: State of the Nation, Jan 8, 2014

Than means around 96* routes to come, including 21 from folk or groups who've done five or more crossings and whose deadline for route submission is January 18.

The 5+ deadline applies to groups with include a five-or-more timer even if that person isn't the designated group leader.

Good luck meeting those deadlines folk…

* I know… the maths doesn't quite add up but some folk have teamed up since the participant list was drawn up, a withdrawn pair was replaced by two solos… etc etc etc
