Nice path down through the woods, though the land immediately west of the A9 is now a housing estate, part of the mindless local housing explosion.

I went that way in 2009 having gone through the Kinveachy Forest area. The path across to Milton Burn was not always obvious on the ground, but once you get into the woods it is.
As John says, you do come out in an housing estate.
Back in 2009, this was being built and sprawling out.
It will probably be the hardest bit of the navigation.
Eventually, you pop out onto the road, and then there is just a bit of a trudge into Aviemore.

I went this way in 2012 with Bill.
There was a tall deer fence, we went to a door that was to the south only to find it was locked so dont bother.
Inside the wood the path is fine, hard part was to find it.
