Re: Hi Tec Zuuk

Thats it Andy, sorry if my post was misleading folks

Re: Hi Tec Zuuk

Thanks Steve/Andrew , not misleading , all is clear now . i like crocs for lightness but they are so **** bulky ,now an inflatable pair might be the answer ?.

Re: Hi Tec Zuuk

Oh yea. Bought a pair of Zuuks direct from the manufacturer's site - received product two daze after placing order - and was presented with a 15% discount coupon applied to next purchase, yum, yum.

First take is that they are the business. Good snug fit, and, with the exception of the white sole, almost a contender in the fashion stakes. I had hoped to score a pair in hot pink, but alas these are only available up to size 7 (UK). I'm a 43 so settled for black. They don't compress, but no harm in that. All in all I think that they fully deserve their award - and do exactly what they say on the tin.

Dancing Bears with these babes in Montrose? Count me in . . .

Re: Hi Tec Zuuk

Thanks for this, Steve, and thanks for bumping it up the board, HMP3.

I have now ordered a daring flash of colour to add to my ensemble!

WHITE... With gorgeous deep black uppers to complement last year's deep, deep grey TGO buff, the slightly black trousers, the very black merino base layer, the mid-black cap, the grey & black Talon and the grey & black Scarpa Nepals.

Last year's Strangling Black Rab fleece will not be coming on the trip this time. I might be trying a daringly (un-strangly) black Patagonia R1 pull-on this time.

DARLING, they will SOOooooo Clash with My Yellow Zuuks...

Just sayin....

Re: Hi Tec Zuuk

Dudes and Dudettes. I have modded my black Zuuks by colouring in the yellow lace and heel-pull-up elements using black PaperMate® W10 Permanent Marker. The colourways deeply offended my sensibility, and frankly at this this time of the year this is the only class of Wild Camping that I can consider.

However - this has all come at a penalty. The additional colourant appears to have added 0.5gm to the gross weight. Sad but true.

2014 is the Year 2 Zuuk! Twerking is just so 2013 . . .

Re: Hi Tec Zuuk

Got myself a pair of the nice black ones (with the yellow go faster bits on them). Really like them - so light (each shoe is 15g heavier than the equivalent size 11 generic croc) - but they are far warmer and far more secure on the feet (for the odd spot of river yomping).

They also take up a lot less space in the old rucksack.

Bernie.

Re: Hi Tec Zuuk

Just for something different for those who find the cost of Zuuk's a bit steep.

Sports Direct are offering Slazenger Basic Mens Canvas Shoes for £3 !

Not a worldbeater of a shoe but at that price would make a great camp shoe or suitable for the fashion parade at the Fife Arms or Alexandra Hotel

FAO Alan. They are also available in black!

Re: Hi Tec Zuuk

They look great, Ray.
And in dashing black!
But that drove me on, to find these babies!

Kangol mesh slip-ons Just £12.00 plus delivery

Re: Hi Tec Zuuk

Or, if you prefer a lace-up shoe, Kangol do this version

Kangol Mesh Derby shoes Again, £12.00 plus delivery.

Re: Hi Tec Zuuk

Just to temper back the adulation for the zuuks (zuuki?) ,I ordered a pair in my usual size11 but find them to be too big in length and somewhat narrow. I've since tried a 10 and that is a better fit but I know that the width will bother my feet once they are tired. I can also virtually guarantee that the sharp edged sole will catch on something and start to tear away from the upper.
I'll stick to sandals.

Re: Hi Tec Zuuk

I've had some of the lighter Saucony Hattoris mentioned above for a couple of years, have used them loads as camp shoes and for river crossings - they are also fine for road walking with a backpack - and they still show no signs of wear (unlike Crocs and some Hi-tec products). Despite the price, I thoroughly recommend them, but you do need to try them on before buying.
