?bridge

Can anyone tell me if there is a bridge over the Allt Mor around 550390. I am trying to cross over onto the Great Glen Way.

Re: ?bridge

Hi Jean

I have only the 1:50k maps of this area (NH550390). There is no bridge shown on the 1:50 map. Perhaps there's one on the 1:25k map?

I've had a look at Bing Aerial views and cannot see a bridge.

I was wondering if you might be confusing the unfenced woodland boundary symbol with that of a footpath? By all means give me a severe boxing of the ears if that's in impertinent suggestion!

Someone with 1:25k maps might be along soon to see if one is marked on that map.

All the best
Alan

Re: ?bridge

Jean,

No bridge, to the best of my knowledge. However, I crossed slightly to the south west, at NH545380, way back in 1994. Memory is poor for that far back but it would have registered if there'd been any great problem. What I do recall is the subsequent struggle up through close grown trees to reach the road. Utter horror. If you do use this crossing, avoid the foliage and stick to the open ground.

Re: ?bridge

Could that be a bridge at 545381 ?

Re: ?bridge

No bridge showing at 1:25k (NH550390) but a waterfall at NH551390.
NH545381 is a fenceline crossing the river.
