Close to the wire…

As deadline approaches a lot of folk (mostly old-hands, of course!) are panicking…

Please get your entry forms and cheques in the post NOW… there won't be chance after Saturday to add anyone to the entry list.

Also, be aware that any signed-for deliveries might miss the boat if there's no-one here to sign for them – it's likely that we won't be able to pick them up from the sorting office until well-into the following week. Which would be after the draw.

Thanks, all, for your co-operation.

Re: Close to the wire…

If folk want to enter OK.

But, can someone explain to me why folk have to leave it to the last minute?

We had a similar - getyourrouteplansin - situation last year.

Do folk

think John has nothing to do but run around rounding up .............

Oooh - that's my first RANT for ages .......... BUT COME ON.

Re: Close to the wire…

Good rant but your space bar is inop lol

Re: Close to the wire…

I agree with rant.

Call me a grumpy old git (no don't).

But you should NOT need reminding.
And if you do you obviously are not that interested.
So if you miss the deadline through Sloth, so be it.

It is all in the entry instructions.
I understand it is polite and courtious to remind people.
BUT I do not see the point.

Let them Eat Cake!!!

Re: Close to the wire…

As one who only posted his application today perhaps I can put forward an alternative view.

Firstly I have been away for two weeks on an extended business trip

Second since my return my walking companion has been trying to re-arrange some commitments already scheduled for May 2014

Thirdly Since the draw can not be made until the closing date, nothing can happen 'til next week so an early submission does nothing but clutter someones empty Ardbeg storage facility

Fourthly Hopefully my application will now be near the top of the pile ....

Finally I have not wasted the last two weeks, and in anticipation of getting on next years TGO I have already planned my route from Glenelg to Catterline

However I agree that to send in your route at the last moment is wrong and an early submission and possible correction should be completed asap. The more even workload and lack of stress we put on the vetters, the better for all.

See you all next year (hopefully)

Re: Close to the wire…

There are acceptable reasons Badger, for sending an application near the deadline. That is a fact. BUT.... You should NOT need to be reminded.
