Re: Glen Doe to Glen Markie

I am getting into the OS maps at the moment using the clickable link.

I think that they may be developing the next generation but http://wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath_old.htm still works at least to later in the day before they run out of space.

Re: Glen Doe to Glen Markie

Andy, I went that way on my crossing this year. If you look at my route on Social Hiking you can follow the track up Glen Doe to the reservoir (route in green, actual recorded Spot points in yellow). The day is also covered in the second part of my report. The track isn't very nice at all, but it does get the job done. I would see no problem in continuing through to Glen Markie, though I left the track after the reservoir to head into Corbett and Munro country! I can send a GPX file of my planned route if you like?

Re: Glen Doe to Glen Markie

It looks like the new version of where's the path is up and running.

The controls are a bit different to the old site but it may be just a case of getting used to it.

Re: Glen Doe to Glen Markie

Bing maps http://www.bing.com/maps/?form=flredr has both 1:25000 and 1:50000 showing the reservoir and access track; the 1:50000 has been available for some while. I went that way in 2012.

Colin.
