News from nowhere

Well, Lord Elpus certainly picked a magic spot for C&W2. And a calm, sunny evening with a spectacular sunset. I'd forgotten that the sun and Scotland were acquainted!
The terrible trio had been joined by Les and Issy plus a couple more Challenge groupies like us.
We left them all in good form -just a bit of moaning about sore feet-at 10pm to make a quick sprint down to our bikes in Glen Tromie. Ermm - didnt get home till 2am. Thrashing about in heather and bog in the dark is clearly a different sport. Saw a couple more tents downstream - thought they might freak if we went and howled outside their doors.
A brilliant Challengette for us -but can I put an early bid in for C&W2014 in our back garden? It is a bit of a wilderness...

Re: News from nowhere

Ach, the lengths folk to which folk will go to get a drink!

Re: News from nowhere

I hope the T.T. were suitable grateful for the elderflower cordial. Your nighttime disorientation suggests somebody bad spiked your drink.

Re: News from nowhere

What fun! Lovely to hear about these adventures and great that the terrible trio are keeping to their plan. Bet you delivered additional grub and liquid goodies not to mention encouragement. The bog-hopping in the dark sounded strenuous. Good luck to everyone and commiserations to those who have had to drop out. Even following progress from home is proving interesting

Re: News from nowhere

Hi Val, did we meet you in Aviemore today riding a bike? We met someone a lovely lady who had completed the challenge a number of times and forgot to ask their name and was wondering who it was!

Re: News from nowhere

hi Vicky

no unfortunately not me; probably our neighbour and friend M.A.Harper.

Liked your post re Cairngorm Mountain Sports - they are indeed great people, as are their colleagues in Braemar mountain Sports.
