Re: Where are Challengers coming from? Take a look . . .

I love it 'cos a bear of little brain (made of stuff and fluff) like me can see exactly which green spot represents me!

Re: Where are Challengers coming from? Take a look . . .

Can't see my green dot. Does that mean I'm disqualified already? Mind you there are 3 towns called Whitchurch......Don't you feel sorry for those poor East Anglians. Flat, flat, flat.

Re: Where are Challengers coming from? Take a look . . .

Hey David, your luxury item is one worth thinking about! Do you eat it straight when in need of a sugar rush?

My big sister used to take those on cycling tours when she was a teenager, and she's now 82.....must be good stuff.

Re: Where are Challengers coming from? Take a look . . .

Hi Jean

You bet I do. It's great in a mug of tea but even better sucked straight out of the tube. I learnt that in school cadet force days when you used to get a small tube of it in the '24Hour Ration Pack'. It's not always easy to buy tubes of it but my local Tesco now stocks. They are too large at c200gr so I shall carry one and send one to Mar Lodge in a resupply parcel for my second week.

Re: Where are Challengers coming from? Take a look . . .

Thank you, David. Right, that's this year's experiment decided.

Re: Where are Challengers coming from? Take a look . . .

Carnation eh! That takes me back a bit. We took a tube on the Challenge in 1983, great stuff in instant coffee and no need to take additional sugar. However a second tube is a bit of an extravagance as I recon Quincy is still using the original tube! It's also great stuff in sandwiches, especially if accompanied by a cup of Hump3's real coffee.

Re: Where are Challengers coming from? Take a look . . .

Thinking of condensed milk, does anyone have a recipe for that calorific scottish delicacy, Tablet?

Re: Where are Challengers coming from? Take a look . . .

Your wish is my command!

Re: Where are Challengers coming from? Take a look . . .

I wish I'd known, Phil.......I make a load of that every Christmas for gifts (my version, I'm told, is very good, tho' I'm so fed up of cooking it I don't eat it). I would have included you in my parcels of it to post, by way of thanks for the services of Doodlecat! Let me know if you'd like a sample for the Challenge.

Re: Where are Challengers coming from? Take a look . . .

Ta for the link, Mr G - and Jean for your kind offer. A sample would be nice if you have any, but I'll happily wait 'til Christmas! It was Sue Graeme (challenger passim) who first gave me some of this stuff and I found it kind of addictive!

Not one for diabetics I suspect

I'll have a go at the recipe. Should there be a culinary disaster I'll shout to Jean for help. Right - off to the Co-Op now for some condensed milk.
