making a clicky thingy

I'm not a computer whizzkid, and at risk of being called pedantic, but if you make a new post or reply to a post there's a underlined text (bb code)below the icons. Click this and follow the instructions from line 6 or 7 and you've created the clicky thingy. Simples, really.

Re: making a clicky thingy

Dear Pedantic.

I don't understand.
Not seemple to me.

Can you be more specific in your instructions.
I am still at a loss to get the clicky thing to work.
A step by stroke idiot guide would be helpful.

I do understand simple instructions

eg "Light blue touch paper and retire"

eg "Mind your head when leaving your seat"

I don't understand the difference such as "Inflammable" as opposed to "Flammable"

Thanking you in anticipation.

Hey Dino, have a look at this:

I've put a red dot on the part that is of interest.

All you need to do is to add the square brackets and the url /url around the link.

When you type it in the editor, it should look like this:

And it will then be clicky once the post is saved.

Australian Michael

Right, I think I may have got it.

I did struggle until I discovered that my computer keyboard does have square brackets.

Is this a hyperlink thing.

Thanks

ps Just in case you are getting concerned about my abilities I can work an analog compass.
