Those not-so-green wind farms.

Did anyone else notice in some of yesterday's newspapers that Alex Salmond has apparently been doing a U-turn on onshore windfarms, and is now going to arrange exemption (usually) for designated wild areas on a "wildness map" to be supplied by Scottish Natural Heritage? Also it is reported that he had recently been talking to one Cameron MacNeish......

If Cameron and/or Chris and/or anyone else has managed finally to convince him that destroying the reason so many people come to Scotland is not such a good idea, then they deserve whatever medals the John Muir Trust, SNH, MCofS, RSPB and any like-minded body can award them - and I'll certainly be voting for them.

Re: Those not-so-green wind farms.

Jean.

It also was in my paper (may be the same as yours).

I would like to think that the report is true.

However, Cameron Mac seems to be relaying a conversation he had with the First Minister. It would give greater weight if wee Alec was heard to speak the said words quoted, although it might choke him to do so.

Cameron Mac as far as I am aware is not an elected MSP and neither are the other spokespeople in the report.

It would be good if the common folk are finally being listened to but I am a bit cynical about such a U-turn.

We can all live in hope.

Re: Those not-so-green wind farms.

It wasn't so long ago that our deluded glorious leader claimed that visitors came to see the wind farms!

Yup. Heaven help us.
