Re: pegs for trailstar

You might like to take an MSR Blizzard Stake for the most upwind pegging point. It's very good on peaty soils.

My own Warmlite 2C tent relies totally on a firm upwind peg and I have used this as a solution for the last 7 years, occasionally using a trekking pole pushed in a few feet on particularly soft ground.

However with a Trailstar you won't have that luxury unless you're pegging it right down without a front support pole for a storm setting - in which case the trekking pole anchor at the back will work well.

Re: pegs for trailstar

For Scotland i used with my trailstar
4 groundhogs
4 yellow easton
4 titanium shepherd

the 4 titanium were for my zpaks bug inner and if i encountered rocky ground in the Cairngorms

elsewhere i usualy take
4 ground hogs
8 titanium shepherd

on the cwt i was unaware of Scottish usual conditions so i brought 14 titanium shepherd, i ended camping close to river or streams so i could get 14 big stones everynight for my paratipi
