I'll be coming down the Great Glen to Fort Bill and discovered this passage at NN132791 underneath the Caledonian Canal. Is it possible to acces the Great Glen Way next to the canal from here ? Skips 3k of road walking.

Aye Theo,
This is one of a few access tunnels under this stretch of the canal. It is easy to go through and scramble up to the towpath.

Hi Theo , I came down Glen Loy to use the tunnel at 147819 just north of your route. The night before i pitched the tent in a thunderstorm, the walk next morning to reach the tunnel ( est. 9-00am) was ok. However the tunnel was filled with water to the entrance , it was dark as i entered and when the water became ankle deep i went back to get my torch out. I still could not make out the depth or anything else in the beam . AND so i used the road!.
I hope John's remark about the wet now making good practice for next May's challenge does not hold true. cheers and good luck. ps i think that year was 2009.
