Re: Scotland The Wild???

Yes, I well remember doing some quiet, misty, heathery hills a few years ago, on a spring day in the Southern Uplands: sheltering from the wind in a boggy dip for lunch, we realised there was a horrible thrumming rhythm pervading the air; we couldn't see far in the mist and there was no development shown on our (old) map, but continuing up to our summit we soon found a high barbed-wire fence and huge wind turbines, roads and concrete all over the hill. It was a nasty surprise after the peaceful, if wet and misty, morning spent wandering what we thought was an untouched and unspoilt bit of countryside. Shan't be going up there again, and how many other areas will we all be saying that about....

Re: Scotland The Wild???

I sadly agree. Scotland's wild land, is being ruined at an alarming rate, by greed, profits, shareholders interests, and the misguided intransigent beliefs of an egotistical man. Not only is the land scarred beyond repair, but delicate ecosystems are being destroyed for ever. And all in the name of a flawed and inefficient technology.
The whole thing is criminal and a monument to mans folly.

And breathe..........
